Designing the Obvious, a new book by Robert Hoekman, Jr., proclaims itself as “a common sense approach to web application design.” The book aims to help designers and developers build web-applications that are intuitive and easy-to-use.
Blinksale is featured prominently in the book, offering some insight into how we crafted and designed Blinksale to be the easiest way to send invoices online. The book also praises the design approaches from our Getting Real friends Basecamp and Backpack, as well as offering plenty of real world examples from applications like Gmail and Squidoo. It’s always a pleasure to receive outside praise for the results of many sleepless nights designing Blinksale, and we’re grateful Robert took notice of our work (a photo from the book).
Designing the Obvious seems to be the perfect companion for Steve Krug’s Don’t Make Me Think, and if you’re designing web applications you should definitely pick up a copy.
