New update today: improved webmail support

Friends, today we added a few things to Blinksale that will improve the rendering of emails (ie, the invoices you send to your customers) in webmail clients like Gmail and Yahoo! mail.

It does not affect the way emails look in other desktop clients like Apple mail, and will not improve the way emails look in Outlook 2007 (still crappy), but it is a big improvement for webmail, which makes us smile.

Let us know what you think!

Great to hear something is happening – though email invoices are still pretty crappy, but it’s a hard nut to crack.

Other than that, anything else – this infamous 180 day roadmap seems to have been abandoned. 120 ish days into it, and so far we have vaguely improved looking emails?

Can you give us _any_ idea as to what is happening in terms of improvements?

Chris, good points. Progress has been slower than we would like, but progress it is.

Until we build some momentum I won’t quote any more dates.

    Hey BC

Been using Blinksale since 2007, don’t know how I ever got things done/got paid without it!

One thing I noticed recently was when I looked at a sent invoice from my dashboard, it shows “Invoice Opened” with a date sometimes. Does this mean it’s the date I created an open invoice, or does it mean that’s the date the client actually opened it in their e-mail/visited the link?

Because if it’s the latter, how awesome is that? I hope so, since I often wonder if people are even getting them sometimes.

    Keep up the great work!

Bobbi, no that is not what is happening currently — but it is a planned feature. Currently it is just showing the OPEN invoices and the date it was created — and number of days till it’s due.

Thanks for the note! And more feedback is welcome!
