Twitch: iPhone App for Blinksale Users

Several of our users have long been asking for for an iPhone app. While that is on our roadmap (along with a plethora of other exciting features), Clif Griffin developed his own and showed us a few things:

1) we have some incredibly talented users

2) a great way to use our API

Here are some screen shots:

And here’s Clif’s take on the app:

After many late nights, long weekends, and a couple of months I am finally finished with version 1.0 of Twitch for Blinksale.

Twitch for Blinksale is the first native iPhone/iOS client for the popular invoicing service Blinksale. With Twitch, you can manage all of your invoicing needs right from your iPhone.

Its clean, professional design highlights the information you need. Updating invoices on-the-go has never been easier.

Invoices Features:

  • View, add, update invoices.
  • Send invoices to clients with or without payment link.
  • Receive payment for invoices.

Client Features:

  • View and add clients.
  • Add people to clients.
  • Contact clients directly from phone (using the iPhone’s phone and mail apps)

  • Convenient, “Pull To Refresh” design on invoice and client views makes reloading data a cinch.
  • Tested on multiple iPhone devices and OS versions.
  • Very stable.
  • Secure credential storage in keychain.

This is absolutely fantastic, and an app in which I have been waiting for. This is a truly useful extension of an already outstanding product. Excellent work; thank you!

Hey Chris! Thanks! Clif did a great job and we’re excited that you’re stoked!

  • On April 27, 2011, Sean said:

Wonderful! Thanks, Clif. I can’t wait to try it out.

  • On April 27, 2011, Clifton Griffin said:

Thanks for the kind words, guys. It would appear I accidentally let a bug slip through in the last round of beta testing. This bug prevents sending of invoices. If you have found this (and happen to read this), have no fear…a fix is waiting for review in the App Store and I have requested it be expedited.

We use BlinkSale and BlinkPay for all our invoicing needs at SwapRide.com. It’s really made our life easier but the iPhone app is amazing. Now, we can sign dealers up right from the store and deliver an invoice the same day. Thanks again for the hard work and great products!

    And…fixed. :)

How do I select a different currency? All the figures appear in $ but the should be in £ (UK based).

  • On May 2, 2011, Rich said:

I second Frank’s question! I bill customers in a few different currencies. Is that supported?

  • On May 2, 2011, Marli Creeach said:

This rocks! YOU GUYS rock :)

  • On May 2, 2011, Patrick Dodd said:

    Thanks Marli!

  • On May 2, 2011, Patrick Dodd said:

    That is supported! Enjoy.

  • On May 2, 2011, Clifton Griffin said:

Frank, while I definitely wrote the app from an American’s standpoint, you can select whatever currency you like when creating an invoice.

I’ll investigate better international support for future releases. Time prohibited trying to include it in the first release. :)

Mike, so glad you love them!

Amazing. Downloading now. Thanks so much!

  • On May 13, 2011, Clifton Griffin said:

It has occurred to me as I am using the current version on my iPad. It gets the job done but not ideal.

At this point, I don’t have a specific plan to do so as other projects are plentiful. I do intend to add more features to Twitch for the iPhone version.

    Thanks for the comment,

  • On May 13, 2011, Clifton Griffin said:

Thanks for the positive vibes, Darlene. Don’t forget to leave a review in the app store it if you get a chance :)

  • On June 4, 2011, Jim said:

Is the app still available? Clicking the link above returns a no matches found error.

  • On June 6, 2011, Patrick Dodd said:

Hey JIm, the link should be good. Are you still having problems?

  • On June 6, 2011, Clifton Griffin said:

For those that got the “Not found” message I apologize. I inadvertently let my developer account expire while on vacation. Didn’t realize it would be delisted.

    It should be back now.

  • On June 13, 2011, Hatim Saleh said:

Its a great easy to use app BUT it shows all my invoice currency as $ sign where as my invoice currency is AED and there is no way to change this in settings.

    Any take on that?

  • On June 13, 2011, Clifton Griffin said:

    Hi Hatim,
The app doesn’t have full international support, but you *can* create invoices with international currency. It will display in the app with a $, but it shouldn’t affect function or how your users receive them.

I second the request for an android app. :o)

Or at least to have the site optimized for mobile. I can get to it on my mobile browser, but it takes forever for the login page to finish loading. After I’m logged in, it goes pretty smooth though.

  • On March 25, 2012, Patrick Dodd said:

Hey Christina, noted! It may be a while before this happens, but we will keep you posted.
    Have a great week!
